Binns stands at 6’6” with a physical body. He is your classic junk yard dog big man for the next level. Little undersized, but out plays his opponent. Good position defender that holds his ground in the post. He is not overly skilled offensively at this stage, but did have a right handed hook. Most of his dunks came on explosive alley oop slams or jams around the hoop. Quality D2 prospect that if a low-major would take him at 6’6” could turn into something.
Binns who transferred from Morgan Park spoke about how it is going with his new team.
“It is really good. I am getting along with my teammates really well. We have a lot of trust in each other. We are playing hard together.”
What is his role?
“Being the enforcer. Come out and bring energy every day.”
This past summer he played baseball instead of going on the grassroots circuit.
“I focused more on baseball, but I was still training for basketball.”
Binns says he wants to play basketball in college.
“I am talking to some schools. I am in contact with Western Illinois, St. Louis, San Francisco.”
