Stevens is off to a terrific start this season and the Saints have done well, sitting at 2-2 through four games. Their two losses are to Jackson County Central and Waseca – two of the best teams in southern Minnesota.
Stevens is an athletic combo-forward who plays around and above the rim. At 6-foot-3, Stevens has excellent explosiveness and his ability to score and rebound in traffic makes him an intriguing college basketball prospect.
As a junior, Stevens averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds per game and his numbers early this year are even better.
Stevens is hoping to play college basketball and has been in contact with several colleges about potentially playing.
“Been looking around at a lot of different schools,” said Stevens. “I’m thinking as the season gets going there will be a few more. I visited St. Thomas and Dakota State and I’m going to visit UW-La Crosse soon.”
For now, Stevens is focused on leading the Saints towards a better-than-expected season.
“I’m really excited,” said Stevens. “People are downplaying us but I think we’ll really surprise people. We’ve got a lot of returning players and everybody’s mindset is just to have a good year and prove people wrong.”
