An athletic guard that can play inside and outside, Clark helped lead Belton to a third-place finish in Republic.
“I think I really good defensively and I can rebound the ball and get around the basket and score,” Clark said.
Over the summer, Clark said he was focused on improving his ball handling and improving his leaping ability.
Clark said he has high expectations for the Belton Pirates, aho are coached by John Schaefer. Although the squad is coming off a .500 season, the team returns several key performers this season.
“We have very high expectations and we can really good this year,” Clark said. “Basically, we just have to stick to the game plan and what coach gives us and we can get the win.”
Clark said he is looking forward to playing rival Raymore-Peculiar, a team the Pirates lost to last season.
“Everybody is going to be there and the atmosphere will be great,” Clark said. “They outworked us last year and beat us.”
Clark said his dad and his teammate TJ Brown have been the biggest influences on his game.
“We work a lot of 2 on 2 and 1 on 1 and they help me every day with what they do,” Clark said.
A fan of Duke basketball, Clark says he hopes to take aspects of the way the Devils play and implement it in his own game.
“The things that they do I try to do and perfect it and I want to get to the next level,” Clark said.
Clark said he hasn’t heard from any colleges yet, but hopes to rase his stock throughout the season.
