“I’m a quality shooter, athletic, and high IQ player,” said de Pree, who recalls playing the game for the first time around age 12. “My passing is underrated.”
De Pree was a point guard for the Netherlands in the 2016 FIBA U-20 European Championship, where he had plenty of opportunity to improve his ball handling, which was a focus of his.
“I need to work on being more aggressive on the court,” said de Pree about what type of adjustments he needs to make as he transitions into the style of basketball in America.
He’s still relatively unknown in most recruiting circles, but de Pree can really impact the game in a number of areas on both ends. At 6’5, he’s a strong bodied wing who can defend at a high level and shoot with consistency and range.
“I’ll b e a big part on offense and defense,” de Pree said about his role this year with Ryken. “I’m probably one of the best defenders on the team and one of the better shooters.”
What can coaches who are recruiting de Pree expect him to bring to their program?
“Max energy level. Always working hard,” he began. “I’m a quality player. I’ll be able to contribute on the court. Get the team a better position to win.”
