For those that know Moore, his ability to do this isn’t in question. It is merely him being allowed to and the matchups working in his favor and against Cloverdale, Park Tudor was able to put him in a position to shoot and that is all he did.
“That game I felt like it was clicking at the same time,” Moore said of his performance. “I can hit shots like that if I have the right mindset.”
His teammates know that he can really shoot the ball. He’s a guy that can really get going once he hits one, the next one is even easier and he starts to feel it. His teammate Kobe Webster knew it was possible.
“For me, I think he is capable of it every night,” Webster said of Moore’s shooting. “He’s been sort of in a slump the past couple games but we all tell him to shoot the ball, shoot the ball. So, that is what he did today. He was able to knock some down and we kept feeding him.”
The sophomore guard is a big part of this Park Tudor team, part of the core group of guards that make this team go. Kobe Webster, Isaiah Rice, and Isiah Moore are a tough trio to stop on the offensive end of the floor. With Webster and Rice being seniors, it is easy to see how Moore can get pushed down the scouting report. That might chance now, though.
The recruiting has yet to really get started but Moore can be a prospect worth looking into for some bigger programs in the state this year and into the summer. He’s a smaller guard and will need to continue to work on his role as a point guard, a position he will have to play to maximize his value, but the offense shouldn’t be in question. He’s a sparkplug that can single-handedly keep a team in a game or pull away. Those 41 points, he did that on just 18 shots.
