Continue ReadingI first saw 6’4” Salem small forward Damond Crosby play on the freshman team two years ago and thought there was potential with some projectability. He is starting to realize that potential as a junior. Crosby has a long and lanky frame with good athleticism. He shoots it well from mid-range both off the catch and bounce. Gets elevation off the floor. Once he establishes the jumper he can attack a bit off the bounce. Still has a ways to go with his ball skills, but he is getting much better being assertive with it. Also has improved his toughness inside on the boards. It is all about motor and being consistent game in and game out. Worth an early look for D3/NAIA schools if he continues to play like this.
He spoke about the Wildcats start to the season.
“I feel like we have been doing pretty good. I think we are finding how to play and work as a team.”
Crosby is more confident in himself and in his teammates.
“I feel like I am not as nervous when I get in the game. When we are out here we are just one family. When we play like that it is fun.”
What areas has he seen improvement this year.
“I have improved on my ball handling and shot selection.”
