MVP | BRANDON SLATER | PAUL VI ’18
As per usual, Brandon Slater contributed in a variety of areas tonight. He took charges, fought for loose balls, and scored when his team needed it.
BEST PLAY
With PVI up double-digits in the fourth quarter, Slater scored and then dove on the floor for a loose ball on the very next possession. This type of passion and intensity was a just small sample of the way Slater played throughout the game.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | BRANDON SLATER | PAUL VI ’18
Slater made a three. He had some crafty finishes around the basket. He also created shots for others. It was a complete all-around offensive performance for the 6’6 guard.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | BRANDON SLATER | PAUL VI ’18
Slater served admirably as the team’s rim protector. He recorded a game-high one block. Slater was also active and alert in the passing lanes, where he recorded a game-high two steals.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | JEREMY ROBINSON | PAUL VI ’18
North Carolina native Jeremy Robinson is fitting in nicely in the starting lineup for the Panthers. The athletic 6’5 forward likes to get up and down, can rebound and exhibits solid fundamentals.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | JAHMIR YOUNG | RYKEN ’19
Jahmir Young came in off the bench and recorded 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. The athletic lead guard is really coming into his own after a strong summer.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | JEREMY ROACH | PAUL VI ’20
Jeremy Roach certainly has a significant ceiling, and he showed that with his play tonight. He recorded 8 points and 3 assists.
BEST INTANGIBLES | ANTHONY HARRIS | PAUL VI ’19
Anthony Harris recorded five first half assists. The sophomore lead guard played with max effort and defended at a high level.
BEST REBOUNDER | MEKHI LONG | RYKEN ’19
Mekhi Long outworked everyone on the boards, especially on the offensive end. The athletic 6’6 sophomore recorded a game-high 10 boards.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | CHRIS GREENE | RYKEN ’17
Wheeling Jesuit commit Chris Greene has been putting in extra work on his shot, and the results are paying off. He got hot against HD Woodson last weekend, hitting five threes in a quarter. He hit two more on Tuesday night.
