Junior guard Saddiq Bey can score it at a high level. He did what he does best on Saturday for the Quakers, helping propel them to the championship.
BEST PLAY | SADDIQ BEY | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’18
Bey converted a four point play at the Q3 buzzer. This capped a 16-4 run and gave his team a 3 point lead heading into the final period.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | VADO MORSE | BULLIS ’18
Vado Morse got hot in the first half for Bullis. The junior guard scored 21 points and hit 5 threes, showcasing elite quickness and confidence.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | JELANI WILLIAMS | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’17
Jelani Williams was exceptional defensively for the Quakers. The Penn commit was very active in the passing lanes and attacked the glass with purpose.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | ROSS YOUNG | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’17
Ross Young continues to impress with his high level athleticism and incredible work rate. The unsigned senior is criminally underrated, but is building a strong body of work this season.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | SADDIQ BEY | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’18
This was an easy one. Bey came in the game and did exactly what he was asked to as the sixth man.
BEST REBOUNDER | JELANI WILLIAMS | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’17
Williams corralled a game-high 13 rebounds. He consistently boxed out and was very good at tracking and securing the ball at it’s highest point.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | JASON GIBSON | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’19
Jason Gibson is going to be a good one. We saw him work the pick & roll where he dropped a crisp dime to Ross Young for a dunk in the second half, and he hit a timely three from the corner.
BEST INTANGIBLES | JELANI WILLIAMS | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’17
Williams is quite clearly the leader for this Quaker team, and a true floor general. He sets the tone defensively, constantly communicates and always looks to get others involved.
BEST PASSER | ABASS SALAH | SIDWELL FRIENDS ’17
Abass Salah is another underrated yet effective piece of this Quaker team. The Swarthmore commit dished out a game-high 7 assists.
