MONDAY: Hauser vs. Greensburg – 7:30 PM
There is only one game on Monday so this was an easy decision but still, this looks to be a great game. Greensburg is setting up to return to power down in southern Indiana. Greensburg is already off to a solid 2-1 start with a loss to Batesville. Hauser is off to a similar start. There are some names to watch like Andrew Welage and Alex Gross.
TUESDAY: East Chicago Central vs. Crown Point – 8:00 PM
The Twitter followers voted in for this matchup over Lowell vs. Valpo but you really can’t go wrong with either. East Chicago isn’t nearly the powerhouse it has been the last few years but they are good and off to a 3-0 start with a big win over Merrillville this weekend. Crown Point is one of the best teams in the state and has senior standout Sasha Stefanovic is off to a great start. Crown Point is the favorite heading in but clearly East Chicago can beat good teams.
WEDNESDAY: Lawrence Central vs. Lawrence North – 7:30 PM
The LN/LC matchup is always one of the best games of the early part of the year. That is true because usually, no matter how down a team is, this matchup is always close and competitive. This will be put to the test as Lawrence Central is trying to rebuild a bit and Lawrence North is one of the best teams in the state.
THURSDAY: Westview vs. NorthWood – 7:30 PM
On Thursday, you have a limited schedule but the Westview/NorthWood game should be really good this year. NorthWood is one of the best in 3A led by Vincent Miranda, Luke Zurcher, and Trey Bilinski. Westview is already 3-0 this season with good wins over Northridge and Churubusco. Look for Sophomores Cody Collyer and Elijah Hales to be the guys for Westview.
FRIDAY: Floyd Central vs. New Albany – 7:30 PM
New Albany makes the list twice and not sure that is such a good thing. They get this tough rival matchup with Floyd Central on Friday night that will likely push them to the brink just like it did last year. It was a three-point win for New Albany in the regular season and an 18-point win in Sectionals. However, Floyd Central seems to be a better team this year and New Albany’s schedule isn’t easy so there is a chance for a letdown.
SATURDAY: New Albany vs. North Central – 2:00 PM
This is the marquee matchup of the entire regular season. It’s airing on Fox Sportsnet and it is the headliner for one of the best days of basketball in the state all year. It will be #1 New Albany vs. #2 North Central. The only other time we could see this would be later this year during Semistate. This has a ton of talent and worth the drive to watch. It’s New Albany vs. North Central, Romeo Langford vs. Kris Wilkes. Should be a blast.
