- Park Center and Maple Grove. The Crimson look like the third best team in Class AAAA right now while James Ware’s Pirates are slicing the waves and plundering their way to the top. Is Park Center and all that young talent ready now? Losini Kamara has something to prove against Brad Davison. That Idaho is better than Wisconsin? Well no, but that he can play with the best.
- Armstrong defeats Totino-Grace 79-73. This would be the game I would want to see if I’m able to get a snowmobile to leave my house this evening. Watching Race Thompson against Rocky Kreuser would be great.
- Fridley over Farmington 68-57. This is a bigger game than expected with both teams playing well. Tirik Reeves and Sam Wilson are players to watch. Tigers versus Tigers, they are going claw for claw, stripe for stripe, growl for growl…. Quit while I’m ahead? Yeah ok.
- If Prior Lake is the team that they want to be they will beat Minnetonka this evening. Tonka is coming off a bad loss to Orono and wants to avoid 1-4. If Prior Lake is the team they think they can be they win this game. I’m not sure they do. Tonka wins 71-69. Let’s not forget that this is the Skippers against the Lakers. Who wins the man or sea? We say man.
- CDH now has some pressure as they have lost to Lakeville North and Apple Valley. A loss to East Ridge this evening would really hurt, but it’s not going to happen. Raiders crush Raptors by 18. The Daniel Oturo Challenge. Does he get to 20 rebounds or 20 points first tonight? I say both at the same time on a nasty dunk!
- NRHEG at St. Peter. Two undefeated teams. I love this game. If I can borrow a giant snow plow I will be there! Likely by myself but if the game is on we can see how for real St. Peter is. NRHEG wins by seven. NRHEG then is allowed to make St. Peter recite all of the town names that make-up NRHEG. Then the NRHEG kids fight on the bus about which town is better!
- Can the Coon Rapids boys keep their streak going? We say yes! 57-55 would be the final score. Lionel Warner is becoming a name to talk about. I say again, 3-24 last year, 3-0 this year, coach of the year at the end of the year! Maybe. Lots of games left.
- The battle of the Green! Mounds View at Cottage Grove (Park of). Ed Cassidy ready to get the Wolfpack above .500 this year? The ghosts of Sam Jacobson help Park get to 3-1 tonight with a 65-62 win. By the way Sam is alive so I guess a ghost makes no sense. Anyway…..
- Cloud Cathedral vs St. Cloud Apollo. The Eagles will be motivated and Cathedral has a history of choking in big games. Not to night, Crusaders get the W and carry their heads high in town. And they got to the Whitney and brag about who won!
- My DESPERATE NEED OF A WIN category has winless Monticello hosting undefeated Delano and winless Byron at Rochester Lourdes. Both stay winless. Delano too good, Lourdes too disciplined.
