Alex King – 6’8/SF/2017 – Columbus North – King played as well as I’ve ever seen today. He was aggressive and mixing it up from playing on the perimeter to going inside and posting up. He finished really well through contact and his release was consistent from deep. Didn’t grab as many boards as I would have liked but his offense is ready for a mid-major. Had 13 points on 5/5 from the floor. Sat out the second half of the first game and the second game due to injury.
Ray Yagelski – 6’2/PG/2017 – Chesterton – Yagelski is a guy who likes to drive and can shift his body in the air to finish. A first look at him and we came away impressed. Runs the point and is very capable although at the next level may be better suited to move off the ball. He can knock down jumpers and shot the ball really well. The best finisher on his team at the rim.
Chaz Painter – 6’6/PF/2017 – Columbus East – Painter is much improved over last year. He is starting to look for his shot a bit more in spots where he can hit it and is finishing better at the rim. I would like to see him battle for more rebounds since he is so tall and thick but he is pretty good as an inside-out big. Could use some work at a small school and contribute down the road.
Sasha Stefanovic – 6’4/SG/2017 – Crown Point – Stefanovich did what he does best and shot the lights out after getting off to a slow start. He moved well without the ball and used his screens very well. He had flashes at times of being great but not enough to be the best player in the state. He is a lot more active on defense trying for steals and plays great with his teammates. Could be a HM kid but today he looked like a MM+ type of guy.
Ken Decker – 6’4/SF/2017 – Crown Point – Decker looked the part of a solid D3 commit today. He’s going to DePauw next year and he should be able to help out off the bench. He can shoot it from deep and get to the basket. He made both his three-pointers at the top of the key and was set on both of them. He will have to shoot on the move in college which he did not do today but he still impressed.
