The Basketball Interview: Devin Whitelow
In our series The Basketball Interview we talk with one of the top players in the state of Illinois about a variety of topics both on and off the court. Today’s interview is with Washington 2017 point guard and Winona State commit Devin Whitelow.
What is your favorite opposing gym to play in?
I would say Metamora because it always packed and a fun atmosphere to play in. It is a rivalry game.
Who is the best player you have played against?
I would say Brad Davidson (Wisconsin commit) from Howard Pulley.
Who is your favorite player to play against?
I like playing against my boy Aundrae Williams (Springfield Lanphier).
Which is your favorite social media?
Twitter. I have a lot of followers.
What was your favorite part of the recruiting process?
Hearing from all the coaches what they like about you and what you can fix about your game.
What was your least favorite part of the recruiting process?
All the calls you get with the little time you have to answer.
High School or Grassroots Circuit?
High school for sure because coach brings a lot of energy and I feed off it.
Who is your favorite NBA Player?
Tyler Ulis. People sleep on Tyler Ulis. Heart over height for sure.
What team not on your schedule would you want to play?
I would like to play Manual. We lost to them in regionals so we have a point to prove.
Nike, Under Armour, or Adidas?
Nike for sure. Best shoes and best clothes ever.
Should top basketball prospects focus on just hoops or play other sports?
I am fine with just focusing on just basketball. That was my best sport. I played football when I was younger.
