MVP | ANTHONY LONGPRE | GCS ’17
Anthony Longpre did contributed to this win in so many areas on both ends of the floor. In the first half, the 6’10 forward literally brought the ball up the floor and initiated offense, showcasing his ability to stretch the floor and hit shots from the perimeter. Longpre transitioned inside in the second half, commanding double-teams in the post and effectively rebounding in traffic.
BEST PLAY | JALEN GABBIDON | GCS ’17
Jalen Gabbidon was very good defensively for the Dragons. One play in particular stood out above the rest, however. Gabbidon dove on the floor and snatched the ball away from his opponent, then raced to the other end for a forceful two-handed dunk. This play finished off a key 8-0 third quarter run.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | CAIDON OWEN | GCS ’18
Caidon Owen came alive offensively for the Dragons, hitting two threes on his way to 10 second quarter points. The long & lanky left-handed wing spaces the floor well and knows how to get open.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | ANTHONY LONGPRE | GCS ’17
Longpre swatted a game-high five shots. The Saint Joseph’s commit had excellent timing and was smart enough to stay out of foul trouble when challenging shots
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | CJ WILSON | GCS ’17
CJ Wilson is the ultimate glue guy. The tough, well-built wing is a tremendous defender with a never-ending motor. Wilson is the type of player you’d love to have on your team, but would hate to play against.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | MAHMOUD ELTAHER | WAKEFIELD ’18
Mahmoud Eltaher was effective off the bench for the Warriors. The 6’6 post, who actively crashed the offensive glass, also showcased nice footwork and a soft touch.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | HALIL PARKS | WAKEFIELD ’17
Halil Parks netted five threes, including a buzzer beater at the end of the first half. Parks is constantly working hard off the ball to get open, and once he gets his feet set is nearly automatic.
BEST PASSER | ALAN TREAKLE | WAKEFIELD ’17
Alan Treakle dished out a game-high 7 assists in this one. The unsigned senior is a reliable decision maker with excellent vision.
BEST REBOUNDER | AMARI COOPER | WAKEFIELD ’18
Each of Amari Cooper’s 11 rebounds came on the defensive end. The 6’5 forward is very disciplined and always boxes his man out, but can also elevate and corral the ball at it’s highest point.
BEST INTANGIBLES | ISAIAH BURNETT | GCS ’17
Isaiah Burnett showed tremendous poise, and executed his team’s game plan perfectly. The Navy commit was a calm presence on the floor. Burnett is a strong competitor who never got rushed, and more often than not made the correct play.
