The region contains Olympus, Kearns, Hillcrest, Murray, Skyline, Judge Memorial, and Cyprus. Here is our list.
- Rylan Jones (Olympus): The 6’0 sophomore can light it up from everywhere. Jones averaged over 20 points per game for Logan High School as a freshman. It will be interesting to see how he plays with more talent around him at Olympus. Jones is a top 50 recruit in the nation for the class of 2019 according to ESPN and holds offers from Utah, BYU, and Utah State.
- Matt Lindsey (Olympus): The 6’3 senior guard is the lone returning starter from the titans state championship team. Lindsey averaged nearly 13 points per game and was a huge part of their success. With jones in the mix this year it will be interesting to see if Lindsey will be the 2nd option this year for the titans. Lindsey is a low D1 or D2 prospect.
- Mike Hernandez (Kearns): The 6’1 senior playmaker has shown flashes of being one of the top guards in Utah. Hernandez averaged nearly 12 points per game last year for the cougars. Kearns should be one of the better teams in 4A if Hernandez can increase his scoring production from last season. Kearns will not have as much size and will depend on their guards to win games. Hernandez is a mid-level juco and NAIA prospect.
- Stockton Ashby (Hillcrest): The 6’4 senior guard is a player of many traits. Ashby averaged nearly 11 points and 6 rebounds last year for the Huskies. Ashby often guards the best player of the opposing team regardless if their a guard or post. Hillcrest has 4 returning starters and should have one of their best teams in years. Ashby is a mid-level juco, D3, and D2 prospect.
- Jeremy Dowdell (Olympus): The 6’2 sophomore guard has proven to be instant offense. As a freshman Dowdell played limited minutes but when he played, he scored the ball. Dowdell had a nice summer season with Rylan Jones playing for Utah Exum Elite. Dowdell is one of the top players in the class of 2019 in the state of Utah. Jones and Dowdell will be a handful to stop for the next three years. Dowdell is a low D1 to mid-major D1 prospect.
