We are highlighting the top 5 players in Region 3. The Region includes Bingham, Copper Hills, Jordan, Taylorsville, West Jordan, Cottonwood, and Brighton. Here is our list.
- Branden Carlson (Bingham) The 6-11 senior Center played sparingly for Bingham last season as he played behind current BYU big man Yoeli Childs. Carlson went from an unknown prospect to one of the highly sought out prospects in the western United States with his dominate play during the club season for Utah Exum Elite. After signing with the University Of Utah, Carlson will now get to focus on defending the 5A state championship.
- Stockton Shorts (Copper Hills) The 6’4 senior guard was the third leading scorer for the state championship finalist Copper Hills. With the departure of 4 starters, shorts should increase his scoring average. Shorts is a great athlete with a college ready body who can guard every position on the court. Shorts is a low D1 or high D2 prospect.
- Lleyton Parker (Bingham) The 6’2 senior guard is the definition of a glue guy. Parker averaged over 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists per game all while playing excellent defense. I think we will see similar stats from parker playing for a loaded Bingham team. Parker is a solid D2 prospect or possibly with some junior college could become a low D1 prospect.
- Dason Youngblood (Bingham) The 6’2 senior point guard is a true point guard who knows how to win. Youngblood averaged 8 points and 3 assists per game and was a true floor general for the state champion Bingham Miners. After a solid summer playing with Utah Exum Elite I expect Youngblood to excel this year. Youngblood is a D2 and a junior college prospect.
- Spencer Curtis (Jordan) The 6’2 senior guard who is a football standout at the wide receiver position is also a really good basketball player. Curtis averaged over 13 points per game last year for Jordan High school. Curtis is a deadly three point shooter who can also finish at the rim. Curtis is a D2 prospect but looks like he will be playing D1 football.
