Top 5 Players in Region 16
Region 16 is always full of gritty players and a few players that have the ability to play at the next level. Region 16 includes American Leadership Academy, Maeser Prep, Providence Hall, North Summit, South Summit and Summit Academy.
- Dylan Marston (Summit Academy) The 6’4 Senior SG should have a breakout year with the Bears with his ability to shoot the basketball in a system run by Coach Evric Gray that is uptempo. His shifty style of play will fit welL with a team that is willing to pass up good shots for better shots. Dylan is racking up interest from a lot of JUCO schools. Currently Dylan is a mid JUCO type player but a great season can change all of that.
- Kaden Atkinson (South Summit) The 6’1 Junior F had a lot of growth towards the end of the basketball season last year. This year he will be a focal point for opposing coaches because he is a big body that shoots well from the outside and plays hard nose at both ends of the court. Last year he scored in double figures in 12 games and we expect more of that this year. Kaden could play at a lower level JUCO.
- Gavin Rindlisbacher (Summit Academy) The 5’10 Senior PG has been playing point guard for the Bears for the past 3 years. He has a 3.9 GPA with AP classes and a great ACT score that is getting him looks from some of the very competitive DIII schools in the West Coast. He will be a dynamic PG that will be able to contribute as a freshman at a NAIA or DIII level. He has developed his handles over the past 3 years to add to his basketball IQ and nice jumper.
- Jalexus Gilson (Summit Academy) The 6’7 Junior W is a versatile scorer that has gone from a 6’1 freshman to a 6’7 wing with guard skills, he could definitely be a sleeper in the class of 2018. His great academics will get him some looks from DII, NAIA and DIII schools. Not many schools have 6’7 players that can ring the ball up the court and pull up from the 3. He could go to a DI JUCO.
- Calvin Hunsaker (North Summit) The 6’0 Senior PG has a great motor and runs down hill that enables him to get to the rim and create for his teammates. He will be depending on a lot of young players to help his team win, but if healthy he could be a major game changer. Calvin has the ability to play at a lower level JUCO.
