Teams: Benton Central, Maconaquah, Northwestern, Peru, West Lafayette, Western
Last Season: This past year it seemed that West Lafayette was the favorite coming in to the postseason since they went 4-0 against the sectional opponents in the regular season. Their hopes were thwarted when they were defeated by 4-19 Western in the first round. This upset paved the way for Northwestern to take the title, their first in eight years.
Contenders for 2016-17: With no teams last year having a record better than 13-10 at the end of the year this one should be up in the air again with no standout teams. Besides Benton Central and Western, the foursome of Maconaquah, Northwestern, Peru, and West Lafayette all could take home the crown. With Nai Carlisle graduating, West Lafayette may take a step back this year but Peru returns two of their top three scorers and should be pretty tough.
Players to Watch: Bailey Gardner the 6’4 wing from Peru will be one to watch. The incoming senior is a very good shooter from deep. After shooting 40 percent from long range last year that number will have to either stay the same or raise in order for Peru to take home the crown.
