- Emery– is not new to being the top dog of the region or of the state for that matter. They will be in the top five of 2A all year, as they were last year. PG Bowdie Jacobsen had a break out Junior season averaging 12 points and 5 assist a game. We expect him to have an even better senior year. The Spartans are also returning Kolton Butler and Koby Butler who averaged over 21 pts. and 20 rebounds combined. They have a December 2nd showdown against Waterford and another tough game January 4th against Beaver. It would be surprising if they didn’t have a 20 win season and hoist the 2A Championship trophy come February.
- San Juan– will be led by Jordan Blake who averaged 20 points a game last season and Jaden Torgerson who will also need to take his 13 ppg. and elevate it this season to become a legit contender. Their teammates will have to step up if they want to give Emery a run for the region title.
- Manti– does lose three of their best players from a year ago but historically Manti has had a great lower level tradition and we expect Coach Devin Shakespear put together a team that will compete.
- North Sevier– lost almost all of their contributing players from a year ago as well as their coach. We place them at four because we have yet to see if Gunnison or Grand can compete with them for the final playoff spot this year.
- Gunnison Valley– returns everyone this year except for two seniors. They do have experience to compete but we will see how they fair against the teams listed above because they might need an upset win to make it into the playoffs. The player that can definitely push them is Sr. Drew Hill who put up 14 ppg. last season.
- Grand– Juniors Brayden Schultz and Alec Williams will have their hands full this year because they will need to carry the load if they want to get a few wins in this region.
