Continue ReadingCurrently the top ranked center in the 2018 class hails from Fort Wayne Carroll and is also the 25th ranked prospect in the junior class. Standing at 6’8 Jared Hofer is a big bodied guy who can throw around guys in the post as well as having a good amount of touch to compliment it.
Hofer has started to begin to get interest from multiple division one schools and has taken visits to Kent State and UIndy and says to hopefully visit Air Force and Evansville in the future.
Hofer’s summer did not start out as expected but after switching AAU teams he was playing with a newfound intensity.
“Everything started to click. I felt I was playing with a new intensity, I was scoring more, running the floor, and was getting loads more minutes.”
Hofer will become more potent in the post this year as he becomes even more confident in his shot and s he has slimmed down a bit adding more agility to his game.
“Over the summer I worked on becoming faster, more athletic, and losing weight. Right now I am working on my effectiveness in the post and consistently making my free throws.”
College coaches will see this work that Hofer put in this summer and it will only add to the list of things that they already are fond of.
“They like how I can stretch the floor and knock down a mid-range jumper. They also like how I present a big post presence on both sides of the floor.”
Carroll has a strong schedule this year and Hofer is excited to play some of the best teams in the state. As the season progresses Hofer will start to look at certain colleges and is looking for a place that has a great atmosphere to be around.
