“I’ve been getting in the gym and weight room as much as I can with my teammates and with Mitch Ohnstad,” Binley told NHR. “I’ve been working on being a more consistent shooter. Since football is over, I look forward to having more time with my teammates in the gym to get ready for the upcoming season and build the chemistry we need to be successful.”
Binley figures to be a primary player for Simley with prolific scorer Jack Stensgard (27 PPG last year) graduated and playing at South Dakota.
“I’m gonna have to look to be more aggressive and score in any way I can,” Binley said. “But I know DeAndre Smith has been working hard, too, and I know that him and I are going to look to score a lot. I have to focus on becoming the best teammate I can be and working on being able to score in many different ways. I want to focus on becoming a better rebounder, because I feel that will give me an advantage over others and help our team.”
After playing up an age group for spring and summer ball with Select Ohnstad 17U, Binley attracted some recruiting attention from a variety of programs.
“I received some letters or emails from Winona State, Northern State, UM-Duluth, Sioux Falls, and St. John’s,” Binley said.
