“I’d say I’m a traditional point guard that loves to see his team succeed. I love to pass the ball and I’m capable and able to score when needed,” Llewellyn stated. “And I enjoy scoring as well. I bring a lot of athleticism on both ends. Offensive and defensive.”
Llewellyn has put in a lot of time over the summer working to get a more consistent and confident with his jump shot. He believes the extra work has paid off. Llewellyn is also focusing on being more of a defensive stopper than he already is.
“Sometimes I think people don’t realize how much I do talk on the court,” Llewellyn said when asked to describe an underrated part of his game. “Even if you cant hear it from the stands, I’m still communicating with my teammates, giving them opinions or things I think would help them on the court.”
Llewellyn has received scholarship offers from Tennessee, UNLV, Creighton, Fairfield, Providence, and Wake Forest. Pitt, Creighton, Providence, and Wake Forest have been in to see him work out this fall, and Notre Dame is expected in soon. Llewellyn is also fielding reported interest from Kentucky and Texas.
“Definitely a school that gets a lot of exposure basketball wise and that also has a good academic side to things,” said Llewellyn, a 3.8 student, about what factors are being considered in his college decision. “One of my main focuses is academics and overall just whats the best fit for me.”
What can coaches who are recruiting Llewellyn expect him to bring to their program at the next level?
“Leadership,” he began. “I like to lead and I definitely love to win; so I bring effort and a will to win at any level that we play in. A level of IQ cause I’ve been playing the point guard my whole life.”
