Hunter Clarke has proven he is one of the top guards in the state of Utah. The 6’4 guard is a do it all type of player. He averaged 16 points 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game last season for the Ogden High School Tigers. Clarke is also a lockdown defender who causes opposing guards a lot of problems with his length and speed. The Tigers had a disappointing sixth place finish last season but Clarke feels this year will be different.
When asked how his team will be Clarke said, “I feel like we have a chance to surprise people and compete for a region 5 title. We have most of our team back from last year and I feel like we can beat anyone in our region.” The Region 5 title runs through Woods Cross who dominated the region last year. When asked about his strengths Clarke said, “I can shoot the ball well from distance and I can also score in my mid-range game. I really like playing fast and getting to the rim as well.” Clarke made 54 three pointers and has shown to be a deadly three point shooter. When asked about his weaknesses Clarke said, “I need to be better when playing off the ball on offense. I sometime stand and watch instead of slashing to an open shot. I think I have gotten better at this and I know it will make me a better player.”
Clarke’s recruiting has recently picked up and is drawing interest from Sheridan College, Central Wyoming College, Mount Mercy College, Blue Mountain Community College, and Everett Community College. Clarke is very underrated and with his abilities I believe he can play at a high level division two or a high level junior college.
