“I’ve been working out a lot going in the gym working on my ball handling, getting shots up in transition game, coming off screens, etc,” Gach told NHR.
“I’ll be playing the point this year so I need to work on all of those things and I also try to get a lift in twice a week.”
It wasn’t that long ago that Austin was playing in the state tournament in back to back to back years and the Packers want to make it back to state once again. They have a chance to because they likely have the most talent in their section.
“Our goal this year is to be better than last year,” Both said. “We have a really talented team and a high sense on chemistry. Hopefully we can win the conference and get to the state tournament.”
Austin is one of the teams that you can see playing in just about every Breakdown as well as every other available summer team event possible. The Packers have a lot of talent and they are ready to build on last season’s 22-6 record which was about six wins more than many people expected from them a year ago.
“We got better and stronger and more mature,” said Gach. “We also got to learn each other’s game a little bit better and know what we are able to do as each player.”
And the past success has Austin thirsty for more.
“It makes me want to come back harder and stronger and more motivated,” Both said.
Gach scored ten a game last year and returns with his brother Duoth as the leading returning Packer scorers.
