Dason Youngblood believes his team has what it takes to repeat as the 5A state champs. After being a pass first point guard for the miners this past season, Youngblood is ready to have a bigger role this season. He played very well on the club ball circuit with Utah Exum Elite and has shown his scoring abilities. When asked about his team, Youngblood said this, “we love playing together which makes it so much easier to know where everyone will be on the court. There are no egos on our team and our only goal is to win state.”
Bingham is definitely a heavy favorite with Youngblood and University of Utah signee Brandon Carlson. When asked about his strengths, Youngblood said “my shooting has really improved and I feel like i’m a knock down shooter. I should be able to get a lot of open looks with carlson in the middle. Also, I feel like I’m a high IQ player and I look to get my teammates the ball in places where they can score.” When asked about his weaknesses Youngblood said “I feel like I need to be more aggressive when I have chances to score. I love finding my teammates, but I also need to score the ball instead of forcing the pass.” Youngblood has drawn interest from division one schools Cal State Bakersfield and Boise State. He also has interest from McCook Community College in Nebraska.
