“I’ve been lifting and getting a lot of workouts in to prepare myself for this season,” said Kelly. “My biggest goal for this season is to have a winning record and proceed to the state tournament.”
Columbia Heights has the talent to have a great year and make a run. Their junior class is very strong and they should improve the Hylanders by a great deal.
“We have a lot more team chemistry,” Christian said. “Also I feel like as a whole we have more confidence in each other to swing the ball and get everyone touches and not force many shots.”
Kelly was at Minneapolis Washburn as a freshman but transferred last year. We saw him play 15U level of basketball about 18 months ago but it’s been awhile since many have seen him play.
“Having to sit because of the transferring rule really killed me. But I feel that I have a lot to prove throughout this season,” Kelly said.
Christian competed with the 16U Pulley Panthers last year along with Hylander teammate Deundra Robinson and it was a great experience for both.
“Playing with Pulley was good, I got to see and play against some of the best players out there, that helped me a lot with seeing what I had to improve on and do better as a player,” Christian said.
