The point guard was able to get where he wanted with his handles. Nifty floor general that has a quality feel for the game and plays with a good understanding for his teammates and how to find them with his passing. Showes some burst attacking off the bounce and played with a quality motor. Defensively is pesky at the point of attack!
Ellis talked about the circuit with Kessel Heat 16U this past spring and summer.
“The spring I was pleased with up in Milwaukee. I had some good games. I was also doing track at the same time so my hips from doing high jump were injured for most of the spring. I bounced back and had a good July at the Vegas tournament and in Milwaukee. Playing with Kessel was really fun.”
He spoke about his game.
“I am not really that flashy. I stick to the fundamentals. Couple jab steps and get around my guy. I rely a lot on my speed. When I am not injured jumping is a big asset in my game. I like to play off the ball. Move off screens and flares. Catch and shoot is probably my favorite thing to do. If you get up I can get around.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Three schools have reached out about me. North Dakota State, William & Mary, and Western Illinois.”
