The junior talent told PHLA that he’s yet to receive any attention from colleges, but he’s now too concerned about the lack of recruitment just yet.
“I haven’t really looked into recruiting yet, I’m just worried about my grades. I haven’t had any interest yet, not that I know of,” said Rainey.
“I think about it (recruitment) sometimes. I’m hoping to get some good schools looking at me soon. I’m just working harder to get better.”
A pass-first point guard, Rainey takes a lot of pride in being his team’s primary distributor.
“My strength is getting my teammates the ball,” he said. “And they all know I’m going to get them the ball throughout the game.”
But there’s still things he needs to improve.
“I’m working on my shooting right now, I’ve been working all summer to improve that.”
Now he’s prepping for his junior season with the Braves, he mentioned a personal goal of his, and what his role will be this winter.
“My personal goal is to cut down on my turnovers,” said Rainey. “And my role is going to be way different this year, and I’ll be looked at as the leader of the team.”
