The high energy, high academic big man will serve as the defensive anchor for an experienced Sidwell Friends team in his final campaign. Since initially standing out as a forceful defensive paint presence, Stallings has demonstrated various attributes that he’s worked hard to acquire.
“I really try to work on being an all around player. When I started, I was mainly a defensive player averaging around 3 block per game,” Stallings began. “But now I’m working on my passing, my mid range, and my post game so I can be more versatile.”
Stallings has definitely put in work, and we saw evidence of that last week at open gym. Stallings is very comfortable shooting off the catch from 15 feet, has good vision, and is very deliberate with his decision making. One of the most underrated aspects of Stallings’ game is his ability to find open teammates with accurate and timely passes.
“I have a D1 offer from Mount St. Mary’s,” said Stallings while providing an update on his recruitment. “I’m also hearing from D3’s such as Wesleyan, Carnegie Mellon, and Colby.”
What can coaches who are recruiting Stallings expect him to bring to their program at the next level?
“Hard work,” the 6-foot-8 senior stated. “An interior defender. Someone who is willing to protect the paint.”
