He continued his quality play against older competition at the Top 250 Expo when we saw him in the fall. At 6’2” the combo guard has a strong frame already. The power guard has a good feel for the game and uses his strength and quickness inside to score in the paint. Streaky perimeter shooter. Has flashes the ability to get others involved. This is the next in line of Lanphier point guard prospects!
He spoke about the Top 250 Expo expereince.
“The camp was smooth. There was a lot of competition out there. I started off a little sluggish. I needed to attack more.”
How would he describe his game?
“I am a slasher. I am a point guard so I have good court vision. I like to attack. I am working on my jump shot.”
Playing up on the 15U level with the Illinois Irish was a great experience for Edwards.
“It was nice. The game was a lot faster than I was used too. It was great playing with the Irish 15U.”
Going against talented older guards at Lanphier only help him step up his game.
“It pushes me a lot. I had to guard Cardell (McGee) every day in open gym. It makes me a better player and work on my game because he is very good.”
