At 6’6” he has a frame where he should continue to grow. Struggles a bit finishing, but with added strength to his frame over the next couple years that should help. Tanner is an outstanding rebounder on both ends. Good feel for where it is coming off the glass and snatching it with both hands.
Tanner spoke about his biggest attribute as a player.
“I try to the job of a big man. I know basketball isn’t about a star player. It is about 12 players coming together. I try to do my job which is rebounding. That is my main thing. I watch a lot of Dennis Rodman. I try to rebound and put it back up.”
He is looking forward to a healthy season after an injury sidelined him as a freshman.
“I was injured most of last season. I tore my meniscus right before tryouts and then tried to play on it which was bad. This is will be my first full year of varsity basketball.”
Tanner ran with All-In on the grassroots circuit.
