Profile:
Pickett is a silky smooth 6’4” wing from Belleville East High School in the St. Louis metro east area. He has been extremely productive the past two seasons putting up consistent scoring numbers. Pickett is a wing that can score at all three levels being slippery through traffic getting to the rack, likes the pull up mid-range jumper, and can hit a three on occasion. He is committed to Illinois.
Odds to Win:
12/1
Why he Can Win:
Look for Pickett to be among the leading scorers in the state of Illinois this season. He had a big close to the grassroots season with Jets/Ramey United and is looking to take that into his senior campaign. He has the recognition of being an Illinois commitment on his side.
Obstacles to Win:
The biggest factor might be being in the shadow of Jordan Goodwin in his own town. They will likely split a lot of votes from the same area and Goodwin will be the favorite to get his name put at the top of the majority of those ballots. How good will Belleville East be? They have the talent with Pickett, Rico Sylvester, and Malachi Smith. Are they ready to take that next step from good metro east/southern Illinois team to a state title contender?
