Boston Allen started his senior season off with a bang. The 5’10 guard scored 35 points including six threes versus a very good Viewmont team. Clearfield has not made the playoffs in years but Allen believes that will change this year. Here is the interview I had with Boston Allen.
What are some strengths you have in your game that make you the player that you are?
“My biggest strength is shooting the ball both from the three point line and the mid-range. I’m also a team player and I’m always looking to do whatever my team needs in order to win.”
What are some of your weaknesses that you would like to work on?
“One thing I would like to work on is going to the left and finishing through contact.” I know finishing in the paint will help my overall game and complement my outside shooting.”
Who is the toughest player you can recall playing against in Utah basketball and why?
“The best player i’ve played against is current BYU guard, Zach Sejiass. He was a great player and one of the best shooters I’ve seen at the high school level..”
What team on your schedule do you want to beat the most and why?
“The team I want to beat the most is Fremont High School. They have always been our rival and our games are always intense. We will get to play them twice during region play.”
What team that isn’t on your schedule in Utah would you most like to play and why?
“I would want to play Lone Peak High School. They have been the best program in Utah for the past ten years and I think it would be a cool to have the chance to play them.”
How do you see your team doing this year?
“I’m very excited for my team this year. In past years we have really struggled, but this year it feels different. Everyone on the team is together and has bought into our coaches plan. I think we are going to surprise a lot of people in Region 1.”
What do you plan on doing after high school?
“My plan is to serve a church mission for two years after high school. Once I get back I want to play college basketball somewhere.”
