Mabor Majak – 7’1 | C | Hamilton Southeastern
Anytime you add a 7’0+, you are going to see an impact. Adding one as a freshman is just a ridiculous perk. Not only that but Mabor is very, very good and he’s got a chance to be one of the best nationally. He should be a rim protector but also a scoring threat from Day One.
Michael Saunders Jr.– 5’8 | PG | Lawrence North
Saunders will jump into the Lawrence North lineup and provide depth at the point guard spot. He could see some run with the starting lineup at times and gives a little bit of a change of pace from speed demon Antwaan Cushingberry.
Kiyron Powell – 6’5 | PF | Evansville Bosse
Powell is a name many will know really quickly from the Evansville area. He’s already had one big growth spurt and was 6’5 the last time we saw him. He’ll give legitamate size to an Evansville Bosse team that has very little of it. Could help get the back to the State Title Game.
Anthony Leal – 6’3 | SG | Bloomington South
Leal is going to be a role player early in his career but should develop out of that as early as next year. A very talented two-guard who can just light it up from distance. Will get Bloomington South a big time weapon on the perimeter.
Brayton Bailey – 6’2 | CG | Bedford North Lawrence
Brayton is the son of IU great Damon Bailey and will help his father’s alma mater immediately. Likely a starting guard for a team that could use a play-maker. Expect big numbers in his first season.
Andrew Welage – 6’4 | SF | Greensburg
Ryan Welage’s little brother is ready to step into the spotlight this season and he has a lot of game already. Ryan developed a lot from his time as a freshman. Andrew could be further along already. Good wing that should jump into big minutes for a down Greensburg team.
Garrott Ott-Large – 6’2 | SG | LaPorte
Like many of these players, Ott-Large is joining a team that doesn’t have a ton of talent. Even with that, Garrott is good enough he could scratch big minutes in a Indy area 4A school. Big, strong frame with a lot of shooting ability. Will bring a little bit of athleticism to LaPorte as well.
Jordan Stolle – 6’3 | SG | Northeastern
Northeastern is looking to make the most of Tyler Smith’s senior year and Stolle should help in the starting lineup. Jordan is a do-it-all kind of guard and that will help him early as Smith is likely to need guys around him like Stolle and senior Reynolds to help round this team out.
Rickie Wedlow – 5’11 | PG | Richmond
Wedlow steps in as a freshman and could be the starting point guard this season at some point and it wouldn’t shock if it was in the first game of the season. Wedlow has a ton of strength and can be a shot maker. Richmond will need those guys and Rickie will give them that from the start.
Brevin Jefferson – 5’11 | PG | Southport
Jefferson is a long, lean guard who will be put next to Harrold Bennett in the Southport backcourt. He provides some outstanding passing ability and good defensive instincts as a freshman. He might not have a ton of numbers this year but he will impact the game more than most on this list.
OTHER NAMES TO WATCH:
Anthony Scales – 6’4 | SF | Indianapolis Pike
Hunter Jackson – 5’10 | PG | Cathedral
Jeremy Baker – 6’1 | CG | Kokomo
Raymond Terry – 6’8 | PF | Bowman Academy
Keegan O’Neill – 6’6 | PF | Barr-Reeve
Trey Galloway – 6’1 | SG | Culver Academies
