Profile:
Dosunmu established himself as the top junior prospect in the state of Illinois with his play for the Mac Irvin Fire on the grassroots circuit. He has a solid sophomore season that was over shadowed by the play of last year’s Mr. Basketball Cal commit Charlie Moore. Now it is Dosunmu’s team. The electric playmaking guard can put points up in a hurry!
Odds to Win:
5/1
Why he Can Win:
He is the best player on one of the annual state title favorites. Dosunmu has an electric style of play that is fun for people to watch and he can take over a game with a flurry in the blink of an eye. Should post big numbers on a team that racks up a lot of wins. Being the best player in the city of Chicago will also help the talented guard.
Obstacles to Win:
Juniors don’t win this award. No matter how good unless your name is Jabari Parker the award usually goes to a senior. Despite people that following recruiting and the circuit knowing how talented Dosunmu is many that are just high school basketball writers might not even remember him from last year’s team because of how deep and talented the upperclassmen were.
