Profile:
After lighting up the city of Chicago as a sophomore for Willowbrook and having the region in the palm of his hand Verge transferred to Arlington Country Day in Florida to play his junior season. He is coming back home to play his final high school campaign. This time it will be at Thornton under head coach Tai Streets. Verge is an electric playmaking guard that will without question be a fan favorite as a lot of writers are happy to see the slick handling guard back in Illinois.
Odds to Win:
8/1
Why he Can Win:
He is probably the single most exciting high school basketball player in the state of Illinois. Verge has that BallisLife quality to his game that is undeniable. He is an electric ball handler, passer, and scorer. Thornton should be solid once again after a big year last year as Verge will team up with junior Orlando Allen to give them a nice duo.
Obstacles to Win:
The first is that he is not being highly recruited which takes some of the buzz away. Also the fact that he has traveled around high school so much in the last three years might turn some voters off. The ultimate question like many is can Verge lead Thornton to be one of the best teams in the Chicago land area. If he can he will definitely be in the mix.
