Here we break down the top available wings and their projected college level in part two of our look at the shooting guard and small forwards.
SF Dorian Aluyi (Lincoln Way East)
Aluyi broke out this spring and summer with Team RWA. 6’4” wing that can slash, shoot, and defend multiple positions. Should be on the D2 radar.
SF Jared Scott (OPRF)
Lefty small forward at 6’5” that is a plus rebounder and can shoot it off the catch. Also a football prospect. High D3 prospect if he chose to go that route.
SG Craig Beaudion (Whitney Young)
Slick 6’3” scoring guard with a thin and wiry frame. Can put up points in a hurry. Projects best as a small college scoring threat or could be a guy that elevates his stock at a JUCO.
SF Jose Grubbs (Joliet Central)
Grubbs is a versatile wing prospect that is an outstanding on ball defender. Slashes to the hoop with his long strides and has a nose for the ball. High D3 prospect.
SF Bryan Jakobsze (Downers Grove North)
Versatile wing that brings toughness and skill to the table. High D3 prospect that should be given a look by D2 schools.
SF Te’Mon Green (St. Rita)
Rangy athletic wing that has suffered from injuries over the last year. Could re-establish his stock this high school season.
SG Jaylan Catledge (Richards)
Strong and athletic wing scorer that attacks the rim with authority. Priority D3 kid that could also see stock rise with a year or two at a JUCO.
SG Denis Alibegovic (Downers Grove South)
Thin and rangy wing that is a three point threat off the catch. Moves well away from the ball. High D3 prospect.
SF Jared Murphy (Rolling Meadows)
Good sized wing at 6’5” with a nice feel for the game and quality jump shot. Solid D3 kid.
SF Liam Lyman (Benet)
Strong 6’4” wing that can really shoot it from the perimeter off the catch. High level D3 shooting specialist.
SG Malcolm Townsel (Whitney Young)
Underrated wing scorer that is slippery with the ball through traffic and has the ability to put up numbers quickly. D3/NAIA wing.
SG Trevor Ross (Bolingbrook)
Ross is a thick bodied 6’3” shooting guard that had a productive summer on the circuit. Gets to the line and is a quality shooter pulling up. Solid small college prospect.
SG John Contant (Stagg)
Scoring wing that plays with a motor. Works well in the mid-range. D3/NAIA prospect.
SG Josh Niego (Brother Rice)
Niego is a 6’2” wing that moves well laterally and is a quality perimeter defender. Best offensive option is shooting it. D3/NAIA.
SG Luke Anthony (Wheaton North)
Anthony is an outstanding 6’2” catch and shoot guy that moves well without the ball and plays with toughness. Small college hooper who is getting college football looks as a small college QB too.
