Here we break down the top available point guards and their projected college level in part two of our look at the floor generals.
Yaakema Rose (Springfield Lanphier)
Rose stands at only 5’9”, but he has a physical body and is tough as nails. Tough on ball defender, rebounds well, and attacks the hoop. Impact D3/NAIA player.
DeAnte Walker (United Township)
Walker is a 5’10” guard that makes an impact on both ends of the floor with his speed and athleticism. Should be looked at by D3/NAIA schools.
Willie Herenton (Stevenson)
The Stevenson point guard presents good size and range at 6’1”. Streaky shooter from the perimeter that gets hot in stretches from deep. Potential on the defensive end. D3/NAIA prospect with upside.
Calvin Hill (Kenwood)
Hill broke out this summer with All-In/Young & Reckless. The 6’1” point guard has a good feel for finding his teammates and can score on occasion. D3/NAIA prospect.
Allonte Pickens (Curie)
Three point threat that is a big time catch and shoot option. Developing his ball handling and point guard skills. D3/NAIA prospect.
Dazon Farris (Bloomington)
Rangy 6’2” combo guard that can handle the ball, but is best letting it fly from deep with a pure stroke from three. D3/NAIA kid.
Rico Sylvester (Belleville East)
Sound point guard that plays within himself and makes players around him better. Potential on the defensive end of the floor. He will make an impact at the D3/NAIA level.
Tyree Spencer (Downers Grove South)
Quick and shifty left handed lead guard that gets in the lane and makes plays. Will be on a quality DGS team this season. Small college prospect.
Bryson Langdon (Kenwood)
Langdon will play his first season in Chicago after transferring from Utah. The 5’11” point guard showed flashes on the travel team circuit this summer with his ability to run a team and push the tempo. Small college prospect with the chance to elevate.
Justin Shadowens (Marion)
The Marion 6’0” point guard can really shoot it. Works well pulling up from mid-range and is a threat from three. Does everything under control. Quality D3/NAIA prospect.
Gentry Whiteman (Rockridge)
Plus perimeter shooting point guard that is best in the catch and shoot. Small college prospect.
Trey Mack (St. Ignatius)
Lefty 6’3” combo guard that is angular and a slasher getting in the lane. High upside D3 prospect.
Simeon Henton (North Chicago)
Quick twitched point guard that pushes the tempo and is best in the open floor. Small college player.
Jake Shutter (Providence Catholic)
Productive 6’1” guard that is strong with the ball and has range on his jump shot. D3/NAIA prospect.
Eddie Burnett (Providence St. Mel)
6’1” point guard that is a scoring lead guard with some upside. D3/NAIA.
