The 2015-16 season in the Western Dakota Association really seemed like it was two different seasons. The regular season was dominated by Bismarck Century, who went undefeated. Then in the conference tournament it looked like the 2014-15 season as Minot won the WDA Championship and went on to win their second consecutive championship.
2016-17 is its own season, but do not be surprised if things once again look the same at the end. Here are some predictions and players to watch for the 2016-17 season in the WDA.

Commentary
Dickinson and Minot will be battling at the top. The winner of their matchup will likely win the WDA, and Meidinger’s seven-foot frame provides a significant advantage. Bismarck High and Bismarck Century both graduated a majority of their teams leaving question marks up and down the rosters. The talent coffers are deep with those two programs so they will remain competitive. Bismarck Legacy has their first senior class this year, and the experience their underclassmen gained will be valuable.
Top Match-up to See
Aanen Moody vs. KyJuan Johnson. These two are two of the top five players in the state, and they are capable of stuffing stat sheets on any given night. Moody will score more, but Johnson is just as capable of putting up astronomical numbers with points or any other aspect of his game.
