Commentary
Expectations for what will happen in Regions will have a preview as all of these teams are in the Dak XII League and will have played one another….Vermillion and Tea Area have been building for this season for a long time and now the long wait is here. Who comes out on top? That first meeting will have a lot riding on it in terms of both momentum and excitement….But wait, are we not talking about Dakota Valley enough? We likely are not. They are coming off a great year and Robert Rosenquist returns to lead the club. The match-ups of them versus Tea Area and Vermillion will also be at a high level….Tea Area and Vermillion will each have another key element to them as Tea has Noah Freidel who is fast becoming one of the better players in the Midwest while people are raving about AJ Plitzuweit who is a transfer in from another state as his mother is the new USD women’s basketball coach. Dakota Valley won’t have that second backcourt scoring piece but they do have John Prochello who is likely the region’s best big…Lennox will be tough to be as they have a lot of nice juniors and sophomores to join a few good seniors….What will Elk Point-Jefferson be? We like Aaron Koupal be they need some people to step up around him…
Top Match-Up to See
Ethan Freidel vs Cooper Williams. The leaders of Tea Area and Vermillion for most of their careers at all comes to down to this final year. Which of these players will get his team to state and which player will walk off the floor proud, but also with a wondering of what if. Both excellent, high character student athletes who represent their schools well.
