Teams: Central Christian, Edinburgh, Greenwood Christian, Indianapolis Arlington, Indianapolis Lutheran, Morristown
Last Year: This past year it was Indianapolis Arlington that was the Sectional 59 champion. They made it to the championship before they found a scare in Morristown, but Arlington held on to win 56-52 in overtime. Both teams made it to the final relatively easily as this was not that tough of a sectional and Morristown got a pretty good draw not having to face either of the top two teams until the final game.
Contenders For 2016-17: This Sectional is wide open. The teams at the top lost some key players and the teams at the bottom retained just enough to be competitive. I have to go with an outside pick and say the top three teams once again will be Arlington, Lutheran, and Morristown. Due to the way that Morristown played Arlington last year and the fact that Morristown is only losing two to graduation they are my pick at the upset this year.
Player To Watch: Since I picked Morristown I have to give my reason, Hayden Langkabel is a 6′ junior guard who can shoot it really well and be a good leader of a team. He will be the guy that Morristown’s tournament success leans on and it will start right here in the Sectional.
