Teams: Cascade, Cloverdale, Monrovia, North Putnam, Southmont, South Putnam
Last Year: Cloverdale pretty much had their way with teams in this sectional going 9-0 against sectional opponents while no other teams had less than two losses. Cloverdale made it to the championship pretty easily before running into a little trouble with Monrovia in the final game. Cloverdale came out on top pretty easily
Contenders For 2016-17: Cloverdale is the favorite this year once again only losing one senior while both Southmont and Monrovia could play spoiler. Monrovia returns their two biggest scoring threats and Southmont does as well. The difference that separates Monrovia and Southmont from Cloverdale is they have big men inside that could hinder Cloverdale come sectional time. The other three teams won’t really make much noise in the sectional.
Player To Watch: Cooper Neese of Cloverdale obviously will be the guy to put people in the seats but the noise maker could be Luke Smith from Monrovia. Luke can really fill up the stat sheet and score in bunches whenever he wants averaging 19.5 PPG last year. Cam Chadd also will be one to watch averaging 18.9 PGG last year as a sophomore for Southmont.
