Many questioned the height of Adrian Rodriguez heading into the grassroots season. However, no one was questioning how tall he was after July. Rodriguez proved to schools he can rebound at a high level despite being undersized at 6'6. This summer on the Under Armour Circuit Rodriguez was forth in the entire league after the regular season concluded.
The entire summer Rodriguez was forced to match up with players that were near 7' or taller. The challenge never scared Rodriguez as he went work and simply did his job. Rebounding is not all Rodriguez was productive doing. Opponents struggled to handle the quickness of Rodriguez, which allowed him to get open looks and finish around the rim.
Rodriguez enters his senior season at Union with no stress of what school he will be attending. This past month Rodriguez announced at Union's midnight madness that he was committing to UTSA. The Roadrunners have a strong local connection with two coaches on staff having coached at Oklahoma last season (Steve Henson, Head Coach and Scott Thompson).

Each night out Rodriguez brings high intensity to the court that is infectious to his teammates. He is one of the players that you want on your team. The UTSA staff has nicknamed him "Ryan Spangler Jr." because of the style of play he brings to the table.
Rodriguez has a nice mid-range jumper to go along with his toughness in the paint. Another thing that makes him a prime prospect for the next level is he is always in shape.
This year at Union Rodriguez will be playing alongside Ethan Chargois to make the best Post duo in the state without question. Rodriguez and Chargois will create matchup nightmares for opposing teams. What allows them to be so special is they compliment each other. Chargois is more of the bigger physical post where as Rodriguez is very quick. Both Forwards can shoot the mid-range jumper very well and at times be a reliable three-point shooter.
UTSA picked up a prospect that will really help them build their program. Rodriguez moved up several spots to #8 in the Prep Hoops Oklahoma 2017 Top 100. He earned it with handwork on the court every game.
