Tordsen stands 6-foot-7 or 6-foot-8 and gave his team a healthy 15 points, nine rebounds, and 2.5 blocks a game as a junior. He’s a player his coach is very proud of and excited to coach.
“Walker is a leader by example kid,” said Fairmont Coach Jared Thompson. “He is a hard worker and a very intelligent basketball player.
“He can use his size to score inside and shoots a very high percentage from three as well. Defensively he is capable of guarding inside and on the perimeter.”
Tordsen improved greatly from his sophomore to his junior season.
“Walker is more aggressive offensively and defensively,” Thompson said. “He is finishing in traffic better and has become a much better perimeter defender.”
Tordsen could play at most of the MIAC schools and most have called, but he wants to head to the Twin Cities for school.
“He has interest from many DIII schools, but at this time Walker plans on attending the University of Minnesota and to just focus on academics.”
So on the Gopher campus there will be on heck of an intramural player if he stays on the current path. Heck, he may make a great walk-on.
Whatever happens in the future, we think in the coming months Walker is going to have a fantastic senior year.
