Showing improved fluidity with his post moves. Powell uses his length to get his hook shot at a high enough point that it is difficult for opponents to defend it. Hands have made strides as well catching tough passes in traffic.
Powell spoke about his summer with the Illinois Stars.
“It went pretty well. We won a lot of games and helped our recruitments. I feel like I got progressively better. I know I still have to work on defense.”
Where has he seen growth in his game?
“I feel like my jump shot is more consistent and I am doing better scoring turning over my right shoulder.”
He updated us on his recruitment.
“Right now I am at three offers. Emporia State, Davenport, and Michigan Tech. I took an official visit to Emporia State.”
What stood out about the Emporia State visit?
“I really liked the way the coaches coached his team. All the plays and the defensive concepts they went over. I like the way they bonded and were a close team.”
Powell doesn’t know if he will decide in the fall or play his senior season out.
