After averaging 12 points, four rebounds and three assists for the Dragons, Kreger has a solid list of schools throughout the midwest with interest.
“I’d say the schools that have been most in contact with me have been Morris, Gustavus, Northland (Wis.) and Lake Region (N.D.),” said Kreger. “I’ll probably play out the season and maybe make a decision towards the end of the basketball season.”
Kreger said he’s planning on visiting most of those schools as well as Augsburg in the near future.
The upcoming season for the Dragons could be a good one as they’ve got four returning starters from a team that won just six games but lost nine by eight points or less.
“We’ve got a lot of experience,” said Kreger.
Kreger is a solid point guard prospect who shoots the ball well in the mid-range and creates for his teammates effectively. He said the area in his game he’s improved on the most this offseason is his lateral quickness and said that will help him make a bigger impact defensively.
The AAU season was important for Kreger and it’s important to a lot of players just like Kreger. There are a lot of talented players in all corners of the state and exposure is hard to get. Kreger capitalized on his chance to make an impression in the spring and summer.
“I didn’t really have any schools recruiting me until I played this summer,” said Kreger. “I played with some really good players and we were able to get a lot of attention.”
