Snell spent the spring and summer playing grassroots with Comets with Chris Kirchner and the exposure he gained from team and individual success has gotten him looks from several schools in the area.
“I’ve gotten a couple looks from Concordia [Moorhead], St. Scholastica and Jamestown,” said Snell. “I’m planning on visiting Jamestown pretty soon and hopefully visit with Concordia as well.”
Snell said he’s hoping a solid season for Bemidji can also help him garner some more looks and after going .500 for the first time since 2011, he thinks the Lumberjacks will be even better this winter.
“We’re hoping for a winning record and a streak in the playoffs,” Snell said. “We’ve got a couple guys with a lot of experience so hopefully we’ll have a good team. Looking to try to get a few more looks in my senior year and by the end weigh my options and see what makes the most sense.”
Snell averaged about nine points, three rebounds and two assists last season and said he thinks his best attribute on the floor is his ability to defend.
“Defense is my strongest point,” said Snell. “I work hard and I pride myself on not letting people score. I’m not the best shooter but I can hit outside shots and I can drive but that’s the area that I want to improve on the most.”
Snell is a player who can impact the game without pouring in points. He’ll have the opportunity to show he can score a little more this upcoming season, but even if he’s a good, not great offensive player, he’s a guy who will help his team win.
“AAU was a really big help for me,” said Snell. “It was a great experience. I’m looking forward to this upcoming season too. I’m pretty excited for what’s in store.”
