Buffalo offered him at their elite camp earlier this year, and he says several other programs will be watching him throughout his senior season.
“That’s my only offer right now, but I have a couple D2s that don’t want to offer me because they think I’m going D1 – places like Wayne State and Northwood. Other D1s that are looking at me are Western Michigan, Canisius, Ohio, and a lot of the MAC schools,” said McAdoo.
“I think I’ll have a lot of other mid-major D1s coming to look at me throughout the season, so it’s not like I’ll be looking at an early commitment.”
He added: “Preferably I can go high-major D1, a lot of people that see me they say I’m a high-major D1 player. So hopefully I can get some of those mid to high-major D1s to offer me by the end of the season.”
McCadoo — Michigan’s 18th-ranked 2017 — takes a lot of pride in being a true floor general for the Lakers.
“I’m a true point guard, that’s one of my main goals is getting my teammates open and making things easier for them. I get my teammates involved, that’s what I do, that’s my game,” said McCadoo.
His 17U season recently wrapped up, the Team Michigan point guard assessed his summer for PHMI.
“I played fairly well. I started getting a lot of attention from colleges,” said McCadoo. “We didn’t finish as successful as we wanted to in some of the tournaments, but overall it was a really good season.”
After a very strong junior season with the Lakers, McCadoo now shifts his focus to his senior season that will begin in less than two months.
“It will be a bigger role for me obviously, I’m the leader of the team now, I think three of our starters are younger,” he said. “We want to make a deep run in the playoffs, and I think we can accomplish that. It should be a really good season for us.”
