We have seen this 6’2” southern Illinois two guard play quite a bit during his young career during high school and in camp settings. The two sport star plays with a lot of grit and toughness. Solid in transition as he runs the floor hard. Has the ability to shoot it. Plays with a high motor.
Johnson participated in the PrepHoopsIllinois Top 250 Expo.
“Camp is fun. A lot of good competition. Everyone is good. Getting better.”
How did the summer go with the Illinois Bears?
“We were good. Overall we had a winning record. I love my teammates and think we played well overall.”
He spoke about where he has seen improvement in his game and what the next step is in his development as a player.
“I think my defense has really improved. Defense off the ball. Shooting and my overall quickness. I need to become a better leader. With me being a junior this year I need to step up and lead my team to a winning season.”
Sioux Falls has shown initial interest in Johnson.
