Barnes does not have any offers quite yet but has visited Indiana, Purdue, and Xavier and along with making return visits to those, he also plans on visiting Butler, Clemson, and Louisville. This summer was a big stepping stone into the college recruiting scene.
“My summer went well. I thought my team put me on the best stage possible and we played really well. I played well, but not great.”
All the college coaches that have watched Barnes play have said that they love his IQ, his unselfishness and especially his potential for the future. None of these things have stopped Barnes from becoming a better and more well-rounded player this past summer.
“I worked on ball-handling and creating shots. I will continue to work on those things as well as my post game and being able to score down low.”
This season Floyd Central looks to improve on their 15-9 campaign from last year and Barnes feels like an improvement is in the cards.
“I am looking to winning more games and playing alongside some of the best teammates out there. I think we will have a better season than last year and the whole team will look better.”
Barnes and his recruiting is just getting started but he knows a few things he wants down the road in a future school.
“I want a great education and a place where I can come in and make an impact immediately.”
