Both schools are out-of-state programs, and he recently took a visit to an Alabama NAIA.
“I’m in contact with Alabama-Mobile and Emory so far. I visited Mobile already and I’m going on a visit to Emory soon” said Diaz, who briefly spoke of his Mobile visit.
“It was a good school, I liked it, I liked the campus.”
Louisiana’s 63rd-ranked 2017, Diaz is hoping for a big senior season, and subsequently some college scholarships.
“I’m hoping to get an offer soon,” he said. “And my senior season it’s (recruitment) definitely becoming priority.”
A scoring guard, who can play either the point guard or shooting guard spot, Diaz explained his playing style to PHLA.
“Shooting and getting my teammates involved are strengths of mine,” he said. “I think I’m more comfortable handing the ball as a point guard, but I’m comfortable off the ball too, and can be a combo-guard.”
With his senior season starting this month, Diaz mentioned some personal goals he has for himself, which mostly include the team.
“I want to win districts, and make the playoffs. And a personal goal of mine is to average 25 points per game,” he said.
“This year I’m probably the main scorer on the team, and I’m expected to be a leader on this team. I have a big responsibility of helping our team win a district championship.”
